في هذا الفيديو (شاهده اسفلا), يطرح مراسل “بلومبرغ نيوز” جون ميكليثوات, سؤالا على فلا ديمر بوتين رئيس روسيا عن سبب التحول المفاجئ بسياسته نحو تركيا؟ هل لأن اردوغان وافق على بقاء بشار الاسد رئيساً؟ فيجيب بوتين بالموافقة ويضيف: ” قبل كل شيء، كما قلت، لدينا رغبة مشتركة للتوصل إلى اتفاق حول المشاكل التي تعاني منها المنطقة، بما في ذلك القضية السورية. انا واردوغان نؤمن بأنه لايمكن ان يكون هناك حل من خارج النظام السياسي السوري، او من خلال تغيير الحكومة السورية، وعندما أسمع أن البعض من خارج سوريا يقولون يجب ان يغادر الرئيس (هو يقصد هنا الرئيس الاميركي اوباما عندما قال على الاسد ان يرحل)، فأنا ارتاب كثيرا. وأنا واثق وأحداث السنوات العشر الأخيرة تثبت ان الجهود التي بذلت في التحول الديمقراطي في العراق وليبيا، الى اين اوصلتنا إلى انهيار الدولة ونمو الإرهاب.. واضاف في المقابلة التي جرت الخميس عشية المنتدى الاقتصادي الشرقي في فلاديفوستوك: “أولا وقبل كل شيء ننطلق من حقيقة أن تركيا قد اعتذرت عن هذا الحادث لقتل طيارينا، ونحن نقدر ذلك. فعل ذلك الرئيس أردوغان ونحن نرى مصلحته واضحة في ترميم واسع النطاق للعلاقات مع روسيا ….
Vladimir Putin, President of Russia was speaking to Bloomberg on the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Thursday: “First of all we start from the fact that Turkey has apologised for this incident and the death of our people, they did it straight, without any stipulation and we appreciate it. President Erdogan did it and we see the Turkish President’s clear interest in large-scale restoration of relations with Russia …. But above all, as I said, we have a mutual desire to reach an agreement on the problems of the region, including the Syrian issue. I have believed and continue to do so that nothing can be solved from the outside through the political regime, through a change of government. When I hear that some president should leave, when I hear it not from inside of the country, but from outside, it causes me to question it a lot. I am confident and the events of the last ten years, namely the efforts at democratisation in Iraq and Libya, gave me such confidence, that we can see where it led us: to the collapse of the state and the growth of terrorism.”
