في 29 كانون الثاني، اصدرت تهديدات من على قناة الإخوان المسلمين في مصر، محذرة من وقوع هجمات ارهابية ضد المواطنين والمصالح الأجنبية في مصر. قارئ البيان على قناة “ربيع ” التي تبث من تركيا، أعطى مهلة للأجانب والشركات الأجنبية لمغادرة مصر، قائلا أنه بعد هذا الموعد، “كل مصالحهم في بلدان الشرق الأوسط ستخضع للهجمات القاسية مع عواقب وخيمة “.
