“في مناقشاتي مع الرئيس بوتين، كنت واضحاً جداً بأن السبيل الوحيد لحل المشكلة في ‫#‏سوريا‬ هو ان يكون هناك انتقال سياسي شامل – يحافظ على الدولة والجيش ويحافظ على التماسك، لكن يكون شاملاً – والطريقة الوحيدة لتحقيق ذلك هي بإنتقال السلطة عن الأسد، لأنك لا تستطيع اعادة تأهيله في نظر السوريين. هذا ليس حكم اطلقه انا، بل هو حكم الأغلبية الساحقة من السوريين…….
……الأمر الذي كان واضحاً جداً – وبغض النظر عما قاله السيد بوتين – هو ان السيد بوتن لا يفرق بين ‫#‏داعش‬ وبين معارضة ‫#‏سورية‬ معتدلة تريد رحيل الأسد. فمن وجهة نظرهم، هم جميعاً ارهابيون. وهذه وصفة تؤدي الى كارثة، وهي امر انا ارفضه.”
