“I am a Syrian” is a young woman’s appeal to the world to help her country. Zena saw the “I Am a Ukrainian” video in which a woman talks about the problems facing Ukraine for the past 3 months. The video had millions of views on YouTube. She wondered why more people around the world aren’t supporting her people and the problems facing Syria for the past 3 years. “I am a Syrian” pays homage to the “I am a Ukrainian” video and encourages us to think about why the international community chooses to support some people in their struggle for freedom while abandoning others in their time of need.
