كتاب تاريخي نشر سنة 1628 ، حول الاشوريين وكنيستهم

جاء في كتاب( قديم نشر في لندن عام 1628 )، بعنوان
( The grand imposture of the ,now , church of Rome )

ذكر اسم الشعب الاشوري والكنيسة الاشورية ،

والكتاب يتطرق الى طقوس كنيسة روما وعلاقاتها مع بقية الكناءس في العالم المسيحي انذاك حيث يذكر الكاتب اسم الكنيسة الاشورية من ضمن كناءس الشعوب البعيدة عن روما ،

ومن جانبنا ، سوف نكتفى باقتباس بضعة مقاطع من الكتاب التي تتعلق بالكنيسة الاشورية وبما يثبت للقاريء الكريم ان اسم الكنيسة. كان (الكنيسة الاشورية ، )وليس كما يحلو للبعض في الادعاء بان هذا الاسم ( اي الكنيسة الاشورية ) هو حديث العهد استحدث عام ١٩٧٥ من قبل قداسة مار دنخا الراحل ، بل ان الحقيقة هي ان قداستة اعاد الاسم القومي الاشوري للكنيسة

حيث يقول الكاتب في رسالتة الى امير انكلترا انذاك ، ( ،،،،ان عالم الكناءس المسيحية للشعوب البعيدة يقتصر الى هذة الاسماء العامة ، اليونانيين ، الاشوريين ،الاثيوبيين ، المصريين ،الارمن ، الروس )

وهنا ايضا يذكر اسم الكنيسة الاشورية من ضمن بقية الكناءس ،حيث يقول ان الكنيسة البروتستانية تقف في اتحاد مسيحي مع اليونانيين والمصريين والاسيويين والاشوريين والاثيوبيين

    With all due my respect, there is a confusion here in reading the passages referring to the Assyrians and their church. The book above that was published in 1626 does not say the Assyrian Church as Mr. Akhiqar Youkhana claims. It says the Church of the Assyrians. There is a great difference between the “Assyrian Church” and the “Church of the Assyrians”. The Church of the East was never an ethnic church — it was a universal church with members that were Persians, Arabs, Turks, Mongols, Indians, Assyrians and many others. Mar Dinkha was confused as well. By adding the name Assyrian to the Church of the East title in 1976, Mar Dinkha damaged the church and contributed to the alienation of Assyrians that were not members of the Church of the East.
