“إن إستخدام الفيتو من قبل روسيا والصين يعني اننا في هذا المجلس قد فشلنا في وقف هذا الدمار. وسوف يذكر التأريخ ان روسيا قامت مجدداً، ومعها كل من الصين وفنزويلا، بمنع المجلس من إتخاذ إجراء لمساعدة الشعب السوري.
وفي مواجهة هذا العمل الوحشي، علينا أن لا نستسلم…. ففي حين ان روسيا قد استفادت من مقعدها الدائم في هذا المجلس لإعاقة قرار اليوم، علينا نحن البقية التزام بمواصلة البحث عن سبل أخرى للضغط على روسيا ونظام الأسد من اجل وقف هذه الحملة المدمرة.”

“Russia and China’s vetoes mean that we on this Council have failed to stop this destruction. History will remember that Russia once again, together with China and Venezuela, thwarted this Council from acting to help the Syrian people…
In the face of this callous act, we must not give up…. So while Russia has taken advantage of its permanent seat on this Council to block today’s resolution, the rest of us have an obligation to continue to search for other ways to pressure Russia and the Assad regime to stop this devastating assault.”
